LJ Hooker Supporting Cystic Fibrosis
The LJ Hooker network is the principal national fund-raising supporter of Cystic Fibrosis Australia.
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is an incurable genetic condition that seriously affects the respiratory, digestive and reproductive systems and results in a shortened life expectancy. Every four days a baby is born with CF. One person in 25 carries the gene that causes the disease.
LJ Hooker entered into a support partnership with Cystic Fibrosis Australia in 1998.
In 2000, the LJ Hooker Cystic Fibrosis Fund formally came into being as a means to centralize LJ Hooker’s commitment to raising money for Cystic Fibrosis research.
From 2002, the Australian Cystic Fibrosis Research Trust has dedicated the lead project in each round of funding to the 'LJ Hooker Cystic Fibrosis Research Grant'.
Your fundraising efforts are designed to raise awareness of the needs of the CF community and raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research. It’s hoped this research will ultimately lead to a cure.
LJ Hooker have raised over $3.5 Million dollars for Cystic Fibrosis.
Cystic Fibrosis Fundraising Event
October 15th 2011
LJ Hooker in conjunction with the Evans Head Bowling Club held a Fundraising Event on the evening of the 15th October at the Evans Head Bowling Club.
With fantastic support from local business houses, we were able to raise a considerable amount of money through the way of auctions, donations, raffle tickets and a portion of the ticket sales for the evening.
With local band 'Mossy Rocks' providing the entertainment for the evening, a great night was had by all.
A successful night was had, and with ongoing support this event will become an annual event.

Cystic Fibrosis Ambrose Golf Day
October 16th 2011
The Cystic Fibrosis Ambrose day was started in 2010, organised by Coady and Kiralee Strong to raise both awareness and finances for this fatal disease.
With the support of the Evans Head community, this event was particularly successful in 2011 and will continue to grow from here.
2011 saw 107 players on the day, and a great day was had by all.
